2. Procedure

2.1. What does RoboJob need to know about a relocation?

When you are planning on moving a system please provide RoboJob with the following information well in advance (a few months):

  1. Which system is getting relocated?

  2. What is the serial number of the system?

  3. When is the relocation taking place?

  4. Are there any changes in the situation in which the robot will operate?

    • Will the robot be installed on another CNC machine?

    • Will the robot be installed in exactly the same layout?Differences can be: walls, doors, support pillars or passageways.

    • Is the system going to process different kinds of pieces then the previous installation?

  5. The relocation might be a good oppurtunity for a software update or maintenance.

  6. What aspects of the relocation would you like RoboJob to assist with?

2.2. Materials needed for a relocation

Some items are necessary for a relocation. The list below are the most common items needed.

  1. anchor set to fix the robot/accessories in place.

  2. batteries.

  3. Forklift or overhead crane.

    • To make it easier to handle the robot system.

2.3. Tasks

In the tasks below you can get an overview of what steps need to be taken to relocate a system.

2.3.1. Preparation of the system before the relocation

  • Take back-up’s of the software.

    • Make a back-up from the IPC software.

    • Make a back-up from the FANUC robot.

  • Replace the CMOS batteries of the robot.

2.3.2. Disassembly of the system

  • It is advised to label wires and avoid cutting them.

  • Measure the exact position of the robot and other devices relative to the machine. The instaliation layout document can be used as reference.

2.3.3. Support for transporting the installation

  • Transport the robot in an upright position to avoid damage.

    • The robot can be bolt down on a wooden pallet for transport. If you have an integrated system, you can just transport the robot on the table.

2.3.4. Assembly of the system

  • Install with correct positioning of all the components of the system as measured or according to the lay-out.

  • Be careful with the electrical assembly as errors might damage the equipment.

2.3.5. Recommissioning

  • The robot must be realigned and adjusted before it can be used in operation.

  • If RoboJob comes to recommission the robot, it is important that the CNC machine is fully operational

  • The client must also provide some work pieces to test the robot.
